Information sessions

Queensland Migrant WorkWise delivers free information sessions to help migrant workers and employers understand their workplace rights and entitlements.

We offer two presentations that can be adapted to suit different audiences. They can be delivered in-person or online, though we strongly encourage in-person sessions as the higher level of engagement and interaction leads to better outcomes for participants.

  • "Know Your Rights at Work" sessions give workers confidence and practical knowledge to respond to workplace issues and connects them with support services that can give them free and confidential advice.

  • "Visa Protections" sessions explain the new protections available to temporary visa holders under a two-year pilot program that empowers workers to take action against exploitation.

These sessions are ideal for community groups, educational institutions, migrant support programs and any organisation interested in supporting workers' rights.

We also offer 1-on-1 sessions for employers or HR representatives. These discussions provide tailored guidance on supporting migrant workers and temporary visa holders, ensuring workplaces are fair, inclusive and compliant with current laws.

How can I book a session? Please use this booking form to discuss your request and confirm date, time and other details.  We can deliver in-person sessions Monday to Sunday, during and after business hours, anywhere in Queensland.
